Yogi & Spongebob, Unite!

The audio animatic version of my storyboard,
"Yogi's Regularity,"
already described in an earlier post.

This was an earlier audio animatic,
"Spongebob Does Noir."
Not as high quality as my Yogi animatic
storyboard, but still very fun.  Enjoy!

Here's the breakdown on the Spongebob storyboard.
I absolutely love doing expressions for Patrick!
Check out his deployable umbrella shield.  Classy!

Christmas with The Crazy!

Spending Christmas with my family, good times for all!

I'd like to say Happy Holidays, whichever you happen to celebrate, to my deployed and much-loved husband, David, my endlessly supportive family, my good friends, my fellow USMC families, and to the many artists, instructors and animators who have worked so diligently to help train and inspire me!

Especially Lauren Faust.

Shameless, I know.  But I'm good with that.  :)

P.S.  I love you Lauren!!!

Divination, Disney Style

Myth and Ritual has been interesting to study,
and I chose divination for my final project.

Mirroring the soul of the animator in tarot style,
these compilations are a mixture of my own work
and graphics, not my own, but bastardized for
non-monetary intents and purposes.

Feel free to print out the pages to play the game!  Be sure to keep the pages in order, and get three six-sided dice to roll.  The closest to you is your "top" divination, the second closest is your "center" divination, and the furthest from you is the "lower" divination.  Turn to the page number shown by the dice and read your section!

The "top" pertains to your personality,
the "center" to your ideal environment,
and the "lower" to your item or totem of power in your life.

And remember, have fun!

The pages above are the covers and instruction pages.
The pages below are the game pages.

Yogi's Regularity

A storyboard I plan to make an animatic of using the original Exlax audio, I believe its from the 70's.  The voice over talks about the "natural, effective action," all the while Yogi Bear doesn't have quite so easy a time.  I've yet to settle on a name, there are far too many great puns to choose from.

Enjoy!

My Sketch Vault, Opened!

These are some of my older illustrations, but a few of my favorites.

Currently in the process of digitizing my ancient pile of scrapbooks, all the way back to the 1990's.  More to come in the future.

First, three of my perspectives in marker with touches of pastel.

These next two are simple sketches based on a rather fun anime, "Claymore."  Not a specific character, my own concept on the theme.  I have stories in mind for this one!  Oh, do I have stories.

The next three werewolves were not my design, but were freehanded in pencil and inked.  I rather love my fantasy critters, could conceptualize them over and over again.

The four following illustrations are non-humans, also inked after pencil sketching.  My own designs, save of course the lovely Ariel, who was an early inspiration in my youth for doing Sea Persons.  I find dual species fascinating, sea persons, centaurs, etc.  Bringing the psychology to such characters is pointedly exciting and personalized.  My anthropomorphized vision in literal form!

Four sorceress characters, a couple from the late 1990's.  I was largely influenced at this time by my first MMORPG game, Diablo, in which I was somewhat obsessed with visualizing my characters as they rampaged through diminutive environments slaughtering demon spawn!
The  last has a decidedly "Slayers" feel to her.

A grouping of super hero styled characters.  Sailor Moon, Jedi Warrior, Dragonball Z and Green Lantern, all my personal concepts, sketched and inked, combined with some marker and colored pencil.  The Phoenix, clearly not my design, freehanded sketch.

One of my personal favorites, a militaristic take on My Little Pony from 2007.  I present to you, my Carnage Ponies!  Duty, the upstart officer with lots of training but little experience.  Steel, the hot blooded stud with a mean streak and endless dedication to the mission.  Tiger, the experienced veteran who's seen enough of war, but doesn't want to lose his teammates.  And finally, Boomer!  The slightly psychotic fire-starter who has a knack for explosives and laughing in the face of certain doom.

Their team mission?

"We keep it magical so you don't have to."
