Croca-Zombie - Polypaint Update!

More updates on my crocodile zombie!

Zbrush is just amazing.  I'm working hard to max out my skills,
learning polypaint, masking techniques, dynamesh,
and everything else that's awesome in this software!

A full turn around, rendered through high quality into Photoshop.

Clothed.

Unclothed (naughty little croc).

Croc-Zombie Advanced to PolyPaint

An update on my crocodile zombie creation!

Using Zbrush PolyPaint, I've taken him to the sixth sub-division and began to
texturize and detail him, in particular working to design the head.

Zombies with ZBrush

I've been learning a lot about ZBrush lately, and I'm absolutely in love!  Character Modeling is brilliant fun, and the limits of this software are up somewhere in the vacuum of space.  Here are a few progressive shots of the zombie I've started working on, using the base "male human" prop form and inlaying of a skeleton.  Beginning with the base emaciated model.

Playing with extraction and masking methods to create clothing.

Progressing him into zombie crocodilian mode!

Using some base materials to distinguish between his parts now.  I extracted out vein-like bits to pull out extra "flesh" for later tearing.  He's still a zombie, even if he's turning into a mutant creature.  Probably got bitten by a zombie croc!  *OMG the tragedy!*

Really working out the base forms on the clothing now, creating pockets and detailing as far as I can without subdividing just yet.

Hard Sculpting in Mudbox- Golden Dragon

My first endeavour in Mudbox.

I'm rather in love with this program!  I could sculpt for days on end
and not get tired of doing it.

In Celebration of Random Illustration Day!

In Celebration of Random Illustration Day!

Today I said to myself, "Hey, Self, what haven't I done in a while?"
So I answered myself, saying "Well, Self, I haven't done a straight up illustration in forever."
So Self replied to Self, "Then let's do that shizzle, mah fizzle."

And it was so!

Background Design

An advancement of one of my earlier value paintings for
Background Design and Environments.

I'm rather fond of my graveyard.  The original graveyard was completely revamped due to massive non-awesomeness, and now if you look reeeeeaaaaally close, you can find a zombie near the church.  I'd like to keep working on my tree, especially the canopy.  It just doesn't have much personality or style.  Certainly not deserving of an awesome, zombie filled graveyard.

Still, its one of my most complicated B&W's so far!
