My parody of James Ensors "Mask" theme. He became one of my favorite artists during study, likely due to his gall. It takes balls, pardon the language, to paint YOURSELF as Jesus Christ entering Brussels. While the work is on display in New York's Museum of Modern Art, it got him into a heap of trouble in his day.
The mask was a gift to me from my generous (and much adored) parents, from a trip to Vegas. Using myself as a model was the natural choice, due to Ensors somewhat self-indulgent choices.
I believe it compliments Ensors carnival style very nicely.
Above is the Photoshop version, and below is through an oil paint filter.
